Practicality is like power- one can't possess it but only excercise it. The March full moon occurs on Tuesday March 10 at 20 degrees of Virgo and is the culmination of the new moon in Pisces two weeks ago. It's time to reap the compassion and love (Pisces) available in the universe by acting compassionate and loving through our service to others (Virgo).
The new moon in Pisces was about geting in touch with our spiritual side, finding compassion, and creating a vision. Virgo is the sign of practical service, skillful expression, and healthy discernment. The Virgo full moon says it's time to take our spirit, compassion and vision and do something useful, practical, and expressive with it.
This new moon joins Saturn in the sky and nudges us towards developing greater stability and acepting more responsibility (Saturn). Meanwhile the Sun joins Uranus, the planet of innovation and change, promising us new and exciting results from our practical endeavors.
Mercury recently entered Pisces, helping to turn our thoughts to our higher calling. And the retrograde of Venus (see article below) reminds us that our inner values drive our actions, which in turn create our reality.
Take a few moments to notice the full Moon on Tuesday night and connect with the greater cycles of growth that are happening. This cycle is about demonstrating practical compassion (i.e. service). The next cycles is Aries- the sign of leadership. Every good leader knows he or she is really in service to those being lead. I hope your life continues to grow in fullness and meaning through the amazing unfolding of the world around us. Namaste'

Many of us have heard of "Mercury retrograde" and tend to view it as a time to expect certain mishaps- lost keys, missing mail, and miscommunication in general. But are you aware that Venus and the rest of the planets also go retrograde from time to time?
In astrology when a planet goes "retrograde" we consider it time to turn our attention inward and examine how we're use the energy represented by that planet. In Mercury's case it's a time for us to slow down and be more mindful (as Mercury is the planet of the mind) - and in doing so we can avoid mistakes, losses, and misunderstandings.
All the planets go retrograde during the year for different periods of time. On March 6 Venus stationed retrograde. Venus only goes retrograde about once every eighteen months and stays retrograde for about 40 days. Venus stations direct on April 17, 2009 (interesting that this roughly coincides with Lent and Easter). Continue reading Three Things to Consider During Venus Retrograde
