I love when our collective consciousness is drawn towards the energies of our current
planetary cycles through stories in the media. In keeping with the current opposition of Saturn and Uranus (see my other posting “The Saturn Uranus Opposition, Part 1“) yet another example of tradition vs. change has come to light.
The Anglican Church is about to split into two factions- a conservative branch that disavows gay ministers, and another more liberal branch that welcomes gay clergy. The story in the New York Times quotes one of the clergy members who is commenting on this very divisive time in the church’s history. This statement in particular caught my eye and focused it squarely on the Saturn-Uranus opposition:
“We’re going through Reformation times, and in Reformation times things aren’t neat and clean,” said Bishop Robert Duncan of Pittsburgh, who is expected to be declared the head of the new province. “In Reformation times, new structures are emerging.”
New (Uranus) structures (Saturn); re (Uranus) formation (Saturn) times. The concept of tradition vs changes, orthodoxy vs iconoclast, formation vs. reformation are all Saturn-Uranus concepts. The stories we hear in the media give us a very clear example of the societal shifts that can take place during this kind of cycle.
Remember, astrology doesn’t predict outcomes, but does describe conditions. Saturn and Uranus will oppose each other four more times over the course of the next two years as they spar across the sky in the signs of Virgo and Pisces, respectively.
How could this opposition affect you? By looking at your natal chart we can see where tradition vs. change will play out in your life.
